Take the magic of the dove
Wrap the world in peace
Do you think for just one day
all the hatred would cease



Could we take hostility
and just set it aside
What about animosity and prejudice
Why do these things reign far and wide



It seems that more want peace
then those who don't
It seems more want to offer their hand
in friendship
than those who won't



Why do we keep doing
everything wrong
This earth is all we have
We need to learn how to get along



Just one day....
That's all, one
Peace around the whole world
Can it be done



Then if there is one...
Perhaps we can have two
Think how wonderful it would be
It only has to start with me and you



Then ten days and thirty
Could we make it through a year
But you do know where it has to start...
Right here



We read about peace on printed page
We hear about it from the television screen
So we "read" and "hear"
Now let's "DO"
and show the Lord with our actions
Peace is what we really mean



Now I pass this on to you
My Friend
Peace around the world
Let's pray for the hatred to end
