I know so many things seem
kind of sad as we look around
But look a little further
Beauty can be found

Look for some happiness
right now
We've got to make it through
somehow
Try to get by from day to day
Don't let things take
your joy away

If we look for problems
We will find them, you know
If we look for the negative
and never let go
You'll just have a mountain
of unhappiness to face
But that garden of flowers
can take the mountain's place

The laughter of children
A person giving a smile
Or a tight friendly hug
Can carry us for a good long while

Looking for seashells
in the warm summer breeze
With the sound of waves
splashing ashore
Beautiful day...
Who could ask for anything more

I'm not talking about
winning the lottery
Or owning that huge home
you have always talked about
The sun comes up in the day
The moon, the stars in the night
come out

There is always room
for improvement
I know this is true
But, don't dwell on what you
can't achieve
It will only take the joy from you

Don't beat yourself up
for what you can't do or don't have
Into complete unhappiness
and sadness you will be hurled
If you have friends
and the breath of life inside of you
