~We Shall Always Remember You~
We shall always remember you
The men and women
of the red, white and blue.
With bravery you put your life on the line
To keep free this beloved country of mine.
Over land and sea you were sent
And In the air and under the waters, blue
That is where you went
To fight for liberty for me and you.
You crawled through desert sand
And held your buddy's hand
As life's blood seeped away
And wept as you lost another friend that day.
You flew where the eagles fly
Watching where the enemy sought to hide
And shot the enemy down
Where ever he was found.
You sank to the ocean floor
And moved through loaded mines
Seeking where treachery lay
To rob men of freedom
and denied them success
any single day.
With God's blessings and protection
You went in harms way to keep men free.
You dodged the bullets and bombs that fell
Doing your duty sacrificing much
and never counting the cost to self and family as well.
You suffered the enemy's angry mob
As you advanced with dignity
answering the call of country and God
To rid the world of tyranny
As you fought to set men free.
I will never forget that many suffered
Grave injury and some paid the ultimate price
To die with honor as you laid down your life
Never to return to children or wife.
With gratitude I remember and honor you
For the part you paid to keep me free
And may God bless as you continue to fight
And strive with all your might
To preserve freedom each and every day.
