~Taking Charge~

I realize that if it is to be
It is up to me.
I must take charge of my life, it is true.
Taking charge makes me free
To be the person I want to be.
I can look into myself and see the depth
Of feelings and dreams waiting there
To be realized as I set them free.
Knowing I can mold them with care.
Making a perfect fit
For the person I am and want to be.
It is enough for me
To know I can control my life.
I need not feel the whole world
Is my charge to make all things happen
For myself as well as for everyone.
I am not the manager of the universe
But I am in charge of me.
