I awakened in the early morn
To see a beautiful winter wonderland born
From white crystals
the snow angel sprinkled here and there
Wind swept into drifts covering the world
in the crisp winter air.
The snow angel came quietly in the night
Dusting the earth with the snowy powder soft
Creating a beautiful white delight
Of the wonderful snowy frost.
The snow angel swept across the snow
With the delicate lacy flakes.
Beautiful designs she makes
In the pristine white snow.
She flings some icy crystals
Against the window pane
And spreads them out for me to see
That, though so many, none are the same.
The snow angel spread the snow
Like a soft blanket on the ground below
Covering ever imperfection
Making a magical wonderland for my inspection.
What wonderful delights
the snow angel has left for me
As I see the trees draped with their coat of ermine
And the fence post wearing their soft caps
Sitting there taking winter naps.
