~*~The Scent Of Christmas~*~
The scent of Christmas is in the air.
The holly and the fir tree are there.
Giving off a fresh pure scent
We all recognize as the special Christmas tree.
The closer Christmas the more the scent
Because we test that fragrance
as a special present to be sent
Wrapped up pretty with bright paper and bow.
The chimney has a curl of smoke
Giving the scent of a fire below
That warms the body and the heart as well
As we sit before the fireside glow.
Scented candles are placed here and there
And Lit to set the mood
As the special aroma fills the air
And make the room smell sooo good.
The kitchen has a special smell that
Reaches out and makes our mouth water
Thinking of the special baked delight
To grace our table on Christmas night.
We smell the oranges and apples both red and green
As well as the lemons, limes and tangerine
Filling the Fruit bowl and the cup
Of punch, apple cider and eggnog we sup.
The spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger
Make us sniff and in the kitchen want to linger
To sip the spiced tea, hot chocolate and eggnog
Praising the reason for the season,
the birth of the son of God.
