Why does He hold the Red Rose
so tenderly in His hands
What possibly could this rose mean
It is a symbol of one of His
greatest commands



Have people forgot
one very important law
"You must love one another"
Reach out with love and caring
We are all here together
just like sisters and brothers



We can live our life
filled with hate and bitterness too
But how far will that get us
Just how far do those emotions
carry us through



Do you realize the power
you are giving the person
that makes you feel this way
They are controlling how you feel
each and everyday



It is so easy to hate.....
did you know
But to turn that hate into love
Gives you strength....
It helps you to grow



Yes, the rose weeps
Because so many have forgotten
how love should feel
Loving someone you care about
is easy
But.......
Loving the one that you hate
takes strength and
can actually help you heal



He holds the rose in His hands
to remind us of the day
the rose wept
It was the day when
the greatest of His commandments
was no longer kept


So my friend I send this
rose your way
May we all see love fill the earth
someday
