Stairway to heaven
The door at the top
You're free to enter
No need to stop

The Lord's home is always open
Never is it locked
Anytime, night or day
He is there listening
All you need to do is pray



You don't need an appointment
You don't need a phone
Just talk from your heart
He is always at home

You'll not find a note on the door
"I'll be back later"
Never does he leave
All you need to do is pray
All you need to do is believe



As soon as you say the words,
"Our Father"
He is immediately right there
He hears every word
of our heartfelt prayer

So when you need a friend
Someone to talk too
Your "Prayer" is the "knock"
He opens his door for you
