~MORNING PRAYER~
I raise my eyes up to Thee
within this morning hour
I will start my day Dear Lord
Bless me, please, with your
heavenly power
For I, by myself,
can never make it through each day
That is why I humbly ask for help
My Father, as I pray
Every new dawn is a challenge
to be sure
But with your help
I can make it
I can endure
I will face problems and even people
that will try and tear my spirit apart
That's okay, you have taught me
to turn the other cheek
That is the way to guard my heart
For if I return hate and unkind words
to those that throw them towards me
Then I keep my heart in bondage
It is not a heart that is free
A morning prayer to start each day
is like adding one more piece of armor
to gird our soul
We cannot become as the one that hates
If we do, it will surely take its toll
And because this is the attitude
that must be taken with life
Before the hate or anger can even start
inside of yourself.....
bring it to an end
It is upon the Lord's strength and words
we must always depend
