~LIFE IS LIKE A ROSE~

How many years a man, has he
Could be many or could be few
Perhaps seventy or eighty
he may see

He starts out a child, life just begun
Moves ever so slow when he is young
But with lines of time upon his face
He looks back to see life
almost done

A life well spent
compared to a rose
Tended in the garden with care
With a walk through this garden
all can see the beauty there

A rose fenced in
will wither and die
And the beauty has been seen
by none
A life locked away will wither and cry
Laughter and joy not felt by one

I offer joy and happiness
just as I would offer a rose
Then you will see
Life and love are meant to be shared
I think most, will agree

I look at a rose, the beauty
takes my breath away
I look at you and see love
and memories
we have shared everyday

Inside this garden
are family and friends
Don't put up a fence or a gate
Let all see the beauty
of each and everyone
Nurture and care for your life
before it is too late

If you are young
perhaps you do not understand
I was in your shoes not long ago
Life is precious, don't fence it in
Someday you will look back
Then you will know
