If I could go back
Would I change what has been?
Would I wish to go back to then
Or would I choose to stay where I am?



Back then they say were the good old days,
Days of childhood so sweet
Or were the teen years that could not be beat?
Would I want to go back to those earlier days?



Back in the good old days was when
A young couple, my husband and I,
Grew more in love as the happy years passed by.
Is that where I would like to be again?



Maybe I would rather go back to when
My children were kids and then
Relive the cherished moments with them.
Is that where I would like to be if I could go back?



I think of the time after the children were gone
And my husband and I were again a happy couple alone,
If I could go back, is that where I would go
And relive mature love when blessings did flow?



If I could go back, I would not
For greater times are ahead of me.
Blessings and happiness I will see
For my God who loves me has not forgot.
