If we could see
through a child's eyes
just for a day
Only for a little while
let our minds stray
Would we ask....
Why is the sky blue
Why are there stars
Why do birds fly
and can they go far
Why is the ocean
so big and so deep
Why does the sun shine
Why do we sleep
Can we dig through the earth
and get to the other side
Where does the moon go
In the day does it hide
When I see a rainbow
where does it end
Why can't I ever
see the wind
If we climb the mountain
can we touch the sky
I want to know
Can you tell me why
If we could see things
like a child for a day
And let all our worries
just slip away
I think we would be
a little milder at best
We all would take a break
Give ourself a little rest
It wouldn't hurt to do this
I'm sure you can't deny
Be a child for a day
and simply ask...."Why"
