~Hurry Winter~
Oh, heat of summer
how you take your toll
Hot, humid day
goes right into hot, humid night
I seem to be melting away
with no end in sight

Give me the wonderful
cold winter snow
Each tiny snowflake
of delicate lace
Cools my body
as it touches my face
Every step I take
in the snow so crisp
Leaves footprints of a
happy soul
I run and laugh like a child
out of control

The warmth of my breath escapes
See it in the air
No other season of the whole year
can even begin to compare
Make snowballs, I will
And then, throw them up high
Watch them tumble back
down from the sky

Snowmen and hot chocolate
are this "child's" desire
Chopping the wood.....
then sit by the fire
Listen ..... do you hear
the horses pulling the sleigh
Even they are enjoying the
beauty of it all
Summer go away
Please, hurry the fall

For after the fall
comes my cool, wonderful winter
And then .....
I will get lost in the beauty
of all its splendor
