What happened to the innocence
The ever inquisitive wonder
Has the heart of childhood forsaken us
We've fallen into adult life plunder

Have we given in to letting go
Only because of age
At what point in our book did we turn
From child-like to the adult-like page

Someone said, "Grow up"
Well, you can, but not I
I'll act my age, as I must
But, for the most part, tell it good-bye

Age is a number, life is a quest
To which shall I live
The years dictate not to me
I still have so much to give

I'll play as a child
Laugh as a child
Shear my heart, as a child, with you
Life's too short to let years take away
All the things we still want to do

Have a wonderful day today
And tomorrow and on and on
Let your, "Heart Of A Child" shine
At every new day's dawn
