Halloween

The night has come for the children to play,
They have dreamed of going door-to-door all day!
Hershey's and Mr. Goodbars make them smile,
They will only enjoy it for a very short while.

Ghosts and Goblins line the streets on this night,
In costumes meant to give someone a terrible fright.
Practical jokes will abound all over the 'hood,
Only on this night are they expected NOT to be good.

Little girls dressed up like angels so sweet,
Pass vampires and witches right on the street.
Icabod Cranes go streaking through the towns,
Stopping for a group of egg tossing clowns.

I've never seen a real spirit come to life on this night,
But there's always a first time, isn't that right?
It could be this year that I see a real ghost,
You'll know by the tracks I leave heading for the coast!

Bowls of candy, haunted houses to view,
Chainsaw bearing villains chasing after you.
What if it isn't just a costume that you see?
Please run the other way, don't bring him to me!
