"GRANDCHILD"

When you hold your child
for the very first time
They steal your heart away
So I thought many years ago
Nothing could ever compare
to that day

But I was wrong
My heart was taken again
The day I held in my arms
My Grandchild
A warmth took over within



Here is a tiny person
that is a part of me
In this little child my
life goes on
They are the sunshine
Dark clouds will be gone

When that first smile
is given just to you
You feel a light within yourself
My life has been renewed



Reaching out for my hand
As together we walk
Or climbs up on my lap
just to have a talk

These times together
Wonderful they are, it's true
When you have a Grandchild
you suddenly realize
A special little angel
has been given to you
