"FIELD OF FLOWERS"

Walking through a field of flowers
Raindrops falling all around me
I walked alone in this summer shower
I wished you were here to see



But you were not by my side
So I held you close inside my heart
What I will do is try to describe
What I saw
in this beautiful work of art



Close your eyes and see wildflowers
Different colors all around
So breathtaking and hard to believe
As I looked at all this beauty
covering the ground



Warm raindrops running down my face
This was not a gloomy day somehow
It actually was a soothing place
I never realized walking in the rain
could be so comforting until now



Then again, I never had someone
like you inside my heart before
Your spirit beside me
I could almost feel your touch
A friend like you is someone to adore



I walked along thinking of you
Fragrance of the flowers
mixed in with raindrops
It was so inviting even the birds
flew down out of the treetops



Days like this are meant to be shared
This is the best I can do
I walked alone...
you were not there
So with these words
My Friend....
I'll share this day with you
