I feel it oft in morn's early light
fine mist upon the ground
the breeze speaks softly to me
A whisper of magic all around
though in grey mystic shadows you dwell
and few have seen your form
I know in fact you do exist
My lovely little unicorn.
Soft and gentle is your nature
A creature good are thee
Yet when faced with a foe of evil
You'll strike out mightily
Protecting the weary and innocent
With the magic of your horn
We all stay safe and comforted
Guarded by the unicorn
Wistfully I dream of you
To be one of your mystical race
Free of spirit, light of heart
A horn upon my face
Though bound by mortal bonds I be
My body of human form
In even daylight dreams I have
the heart of a unicorn
The magic deep within your horn
Has boundaries yet unknown
The mysteries of your spirit
On summer's breeze have flown
Fairy tales be but for children
Adults are for earthen things
Storybooks are places for
Unicorn and Eagle Wings
If that be so, I mourn for us
Who shrug off mystical love.
If that be so, I want to be
A child believing once more.
Come to me my unicorn
Set my spirit free
To run with you across the land
Is where I'm meant to be
Elusive little unicorn
Seen only by pure of heart
Take me from this earthen bond
To fly to where you are
My love for you grows obsessive
For I know a spirit we share
I see you often in my dreams
But wake to find you're not there
A tear slips silently down my cheek
Alone once again and forlorn
Frantically I seek yet more sleep
For only there to find my unicorn
What treasures we hold in our hearts
Of things we can not see
The unicorn truly does exist
For those who will believe
