~FAMILY TREASURES~
There was a lady in my life
A treasure she was
But, at the time, this I didn't know
Because I was just a little girl
And it was so very long ago

Now I only have her picture
She was my Great-grandmother
you see
I vaguely remember sitting on her lap
She would hug and cuddle me

And even though I was very young
Seeing her picture jogged my memory
of a lady that was sweet and kind
Had I never sat on her lap
She would have been just a picture to me
and a memory I could never find

As I look at her picture
I seem to recall more and more
Not only did she hold me on her lap
She told me stories of when she was
a little girl
That I would have never heard before

I am so glad I had that time with her
There was a tenderness to her touch
She is my past, but I was her future
Now I remember spending time with her
and I loved her very much

If you are blest with Great-grandparents
And in your life they are still a part
Spend as much time as you can
with them
For they are the Treasures of your heart
