~I WONDER~

Walk along the seashore
Barefoot in the sand
Find a pretty seashell
Hold it in your hand



Press it up against your ear
Hear the waves inside
Now if the sea is truly there
Just where does it hide



Because when I take a look
I do not find the sea
The seashell is holding nothing
And where could all
the sea creatures be



Now ever since I was a child
That is what I was told
Listen to the sea
For that is what the seashell
does hold



Well, of course I don't believe it
But it is so much fun
This was the story I always told
my little daughter and son



The memories I have in pictures
are so very priceless to me
They are standing there on the beach
A seashell to their ear listening to the sea
