Follow your hopes

I set out so long ago
Searching to find who I am
Flying on wings of hope
Unknown journey I began



Never give up
So they have said
so many times
But with broken wings
you can't go far
Where was the hope
I set out to find

This has been said too
Try to mend
the broken wings
So my dreams
I could pursue



How can I put together again
Broken wings torn apart
There is just no way
To fly with a broken heart



The desire to go on
The will was not there
Nothing seemed to matter
I just didn't care



Now sad and alone
What was I looking for
Broken in two
I didn't want
to try anymore



I was so lost
But then I was found
Who was this person
Picking me up
from the ground
Weaving my wings
back together again
With golden threads of love
The sky opened up
Fly, I could fly like a dove



I tried to follow my hopes
I tried to follow my dreams
Broken wings fell apart
But when I got lost
there you were
So I followed my heart
