~ A Beautiful Soul ~
Some souls shine with such a dazzling light
And are gone too soon from our sight.
Such a one we are honored to call friend
And wish that our time with him would never end.
But the brightest ones seem not to last
Beyond the time their fate is cast.
They touch our lives in countless ways,
Giving us joy through all our days.
We can only be glad we had the chance to be near
This delightful spirit while he was here.
He was one beloved by all for his wit, charm, and caring,
And he would chide us, I know, if frowns we are wearing.
For all who knew him, he was a treasure,
And may his memory be held with awe and pleasure.
He's gone from us now and the loss is great,
But this was a soul who fulfilled his fate.
It's certain now that he is at Heaven's door
Making the angels laugh forever more.
