I sit on my patio and look out the window
Cause it's Spring and everything is new
The birds are singing and the flowers are blooming
This season has been long overdue!
The winter months have been long and harsh
And I always get depressed to a degree
I long for the bright and sunny days
And to feel the warmth of a gentle breeze.
My favorite season is here at last
No more days of feeling so blue
The sky, the birds, the flowers, the trees
Oh why are these months so few!
These past winter months I've heard the wind blow
And marveled at the huge snow drifts
But thank God those days are behind us now
God has given us this wonderful gift.
The gift of green grass and the sweet smell of flowers
Plus the beautiful songs that birds sing
It lifts my heart and makes me smile
These gifts are such wonderous things.
Please understand I love all the seasons
The winter, spring, summer and fall
I have my favorite as I'm sure you do
And I think Spring is the best of all.
