Lemonade I have to sell
Come, buy a glass from me
Its taste is, oh so wonderful
Please stop by and see
The flavor goes much deeper
Than just the sweetness, you will find
This is not ordinary lemonade
It is the 'loving' kind
For every glass I sell today
You will taste it a long, long while
And when you think of the children you helped
Your heart will begin to smile
It's a glass of lemonade that never runs out
The flavor is sweet and pure
Because, you see, the power of this love
Goes to research to find a cure
A battle with cancer is a fight indeed
But, we can win with every, dollar, nickel or dime
A child is our future, let's help, please ....
One glass of lemonade at a time
~~~~~~~~
This poem was inspired by a wonderful little girl,
eight year old Alex, who started a lemonade stand
and used the proceeds for cancer research
to fight this terrible disease.
It is with sadness, that we have found out,
sweet, little Alex lost her battle with cancer
August 1, 2004.
